Manna Closet / Food Pantry

”For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat.  I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger and you invited me in.  I needed clothes and you clothed me…I tell you the truth, whatever you did for on of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”   Matthew 25:36,40

Our Food Pantry / Manna Closet helps families in our community. Each month, we distribute an average of 15 to 25 boxes of food and that number continually is increasing due to the current economic crisis. YOU can help us meet this rising need by donating to our pantry!

If you are interested in being a servant volunteer on this team, please contact the church office  at 234-9601.

If you are in need, our servant volunteers distribute boxes every Thursday from 1 to 3 PM.  We simply remind you to bring in a picture I.D.  Our goal is to help as many families as possible, regrettably, our funds and supplies are limited.  We only ask as we fill your box based on your family’s size and needs, recognize we are a short-term help.  Our goal is to feed you the best we can for as short a time as possible.

Our community’s needs are great, we understand it is not easy or pleasant to be in need.  For that reason, as we endeavor to feed you, we also want to be available for others, please do not be offended if we emphasize, we are a short term help trying to reach as many as possible.

We invite everyone in need, please do not hesitate to receive a box of food.  If Thursdays 1 to 3 PM is impossible for you, please call the church office 234-9601 and we will schedule a time to help meet your need.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

As believers and Disciples of Christ we passionately believe in prayer.  We also believe in sharing that passion with others.  Our Prayer Shawl Ministry does just that.  On the last Friday of each month, at the church at 1 PM, several servant leaders gather to collect that months shawls that have been made.  With fellowship and encouragement they spur one another on. You need not have new shawls to attend.

Shawls are simply handed out to those in need of prayer.  Often mailed or hand delivered in hospitals or homes or during our first worship service every month.  If you know of someone who is in need of encouragement and prayer we have shawls available for you.  We also encourage anyone and everyone to help keep our shawl supply up, donations are always encouraged.  You can knit, sew, crochet supply materials while we all commit to prayer.

The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
